This is an example of Letter From Birmingham Jail by Martin Luther King using ethos.
King clarifies that he isn’t just someone looking to go against the government but is also involved in organizations. As noted by King, “I have the honor of serving as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization operating in every Southern state, with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. We have some eighty-five affiliated organizations all across the South, one being the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights”(Letter to). King presents himself as an insider, not just someone who protests in an outside community, but the president of the Southern Christian leadership Conference. Moreover, he is a clergyman speaking to other clergymen, but also part of an organization, which fights for Human Rights.
