Canadian Politics! Prime Minister

Hey,

I’m looking for help to write my analytic paper in Canadian Politics. The topic is:

“Are there any effective, working constraints on prime ministerial power in Canada today? Identify them and explain how and the extent to which they constrain the Prime Minister’s power.”

Our professor listed the following material with the topic. This does not have to be used but its preferred that at least some of the material is used. Also, additional resources are required to show that a proper research was done.

• Jeffrey Simpson, The Friendly Dictatorship, 2001
• Donald Savoie, Governing from the Centre: the Concentration of Power in Canadian Politics
• Donald Savoie, “The Prime Minister of Canada: Primus in all things,” Inroads, vol. 9 (2000)
• W.T. Stanbury, “Reducing excessive powers of Prime Minister: here’s a way to start,” The Hill Times, July 6, 2009
• Graham White, Cabinets and First Ministers
• Herman Bakvis, “Canada: Executive Dominance and Presidentialization,” in Thomas Poguntke & Paul Webb, eds., The Presidentialization of Politics: A Comparative Study of Modern Democracies, pp. 199-221
• Herman Bakvis, “Prime Minister and Cabinet in Canada: An Autocracy in Need of Reform?,” Journal of Canadian Studies, vol. 35:4 (Winter 2001), pp. 60-79

Here are also the guidelines that the professor included for a good Poli Paper:

• proper grammar, spelling, and coherent paragraphs;
• a developed argument or thesis, which proceeds logically from one point to the next;
• the deployment of the empirical evidence to support your argument;
• proper use of the relevant concepts, terms and buzzwords;
• recognition that there are always opposing points of view on every issue, which need to be addressed; and
• use of a standard form of documentation for foot- or endnotes or in-text citations, and bibliography. Most sources should be scholarly, peer-reviewed publications, not news articles or content websites.

I’m attaching the grading rubric in the attachments below. One of the main parts is the thesis of the paper. Please please, pay close attention to the “Thesis” part and if you are not sure about it may be consult with me before proceeding.
