THIS ASSIGNMENT IS IN THE HUMAN SERVICE FIELD/SOCIAL WORK SO PLEASE TAKE THIS IN TO CONSIDERATION. 2 pages APA Style/Citation.
In this literature review, PLEASE DO NOT A DESCRIPTION EACH ARTICLE, but an integration of the information across the articles that you are using. The articles – which, again, must be from professional journals, and not web sites – should help you understand the client’s problems, ans/or inform your intervention.
******Below is 1 paragraph about the case study I will be using for the literature review and the 5 journal articles I would like to be used. Please only use the 5 journal articles and also discuss how these articles relate to the case study below.********
The client that I am currently working with is JM an unmarried 26-year-old Caucasian woman who has a history of heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepine disorder and also reports a history of anxiety disorder. This client has a 2-year-old son and doesn’t have stable housing but she stays with family from time to time. JM is currently unemployed and collects PA benefits. JM is receiving services at a methadone clinic where I am her counselor. JM has had several ACS cases opened and closed within the past 3 years I have worked with her. JM is currently using drugs consistently and recently refuses the assistance of our programs higher level of care.
Since JM refuses our services to get help the only thing I was force to do was to inform ACS in order to protect the welfare of the child and hope that JM gets clean/suburb. Since the counselor called on JM this time, I feel that the ACS workers are taking this case more seriously and holding JM to higher standards now that they now she is actively using.

Answer preview…………. Substance abuse is a major public health problem that does not only have adverse impact on the addict but members of the family, especially the children when the user is a parent. While there are effective intervention programs to rehabilitate addicts and help them overcome their dependency on illicit drugs to cope with the physical and emotional issues, a significant percentage of active drug users are reluctant to participate or unwilling to adhere to the treatment plan prescribed by the physicians. According to Termoshulzen, Krol, Prins, and van Ameijden (2005), during a person’s substance abuse career, the episodes of frequent use is always alternated with those of abstinence which contributes to the high relapse rates of the problem. Therefore, it becomes challenging for the social service worker to ensure that the patient remains in the intervention program for long periods since it remains the most effective solution for dealing with some of the issues from the addiction that would create physical and behavioral problems for the child or children………….
